More About the Center

So you want to know more?  We are glad you do!

Aviano Center is a diverse group of individuals and families who come together to worship the Lord Jesus Christ.  We were founded by people who wanted to worship the Lord, teach His word, and share His love with those in the military, our community and around the world.  We are military and civilians, parents and children, students and retirees, Christians and curious; who come from all around the world, from all walks of life, yet find community and friendship here.  We are not perfect, and don’t expect others to be.  Instead, we believe in honesty about our struggles and sharing one another’s burdens as Jesus taught.  To sum it up, we hope you find Aviano Center to be your place of worship and a home away from home in a welcoming atmosphere while you are here in Aviano, Italy.

We are here to minister to the spiritual needs of the military community while also being able to provide the much needed physical, emotional and social support that each one of us desire in Christian relationships.  Aviano Center is often a place for dependent spouses and children to come to while their military spouses are deployed or TDY.  We believe the friendly atmosphere and the feeling of being a part of a large extended family help people to cope in stressful times.

The ministries provided in our center are quite similar to those of a stateside church.  We have worship services, Bible studies, fellowships, pastoral counseling, baptisms, and pastoral visitation.  Since we deal with a very special group of people, our programs reflect the love and care required to support the military family.  We are aware that most people are away from home and are often lonely for Christian love and support.  We are here to provide that love and support!

We welcome other members of the Body of Christ to join with our congregation as we commit to establish and maintain a caring New Testament fellowship in the Aviano Community, under the auspices of the Church of God and in cooperation with the military chaplaincy, to reach people for Christ and to train lay leaders for service.
